Who we are
At Southwest Christian Academy, we are passionate educators who believe children can truly thrive outside of the traditional school model. We have seen firsthand that students flourish when they are given meaningful structure, clear expectations, and loving guidance—while also being afforded the time, flexibility, and freedom to explore their interests, creativity, and God-given gifts.
We believe learning should be intentional, relational, and rooted in faith. Our approach balances academic enrichment with curiosity, exploration, and joy, creating an environment where children are supported without being rushed or confined to a one-size-fits-all system.
Southwest Christian Academy is not a traditional school, and we do not seek to replace what families are already doing at home. Instead, we exist to support and partner with homeschool families by offering high-quality academic enrichment, guidance, and community. Our program is designed to complement home education—providing structure, accountability, and collaborative learning opportunities while honoring the individuality of each family’s homeschool journey.
We are Christ-followers who believe deeply that education is ultimately the responsibility of parents. Parents are the primary educators and decision-makers in their child’s life, and we view our role as one of partnership and support. We walk alongside families, offering tools, encouragement, and expertise, while respecting their authority and unique calling.
Our tutors and staff have a genuine heart for both Jesus and children. They are committed to educating the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually—using a variety of instructional strategies to meet students where they are. Every member of our team is carefully selected, background checked, and completes mandated reporter training. We take the safety, well-being, and trust of our families very seriously and are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment.
At the heart of Southwest Christian Academy is a deep love for children, a commitment to Christ-centered education, and a belief that families deserve support, flexibility, and excellence as they pursue an alternative path to learning. We are honored to partner with families who share these values and are seeking a thoughtful, intentional approach to education.
Our History
Southwest Christian Academy was founded out of a growing desire to serve families who were seeking something different from the traditional education model—something more flexible, more relational, and more deeply rooted in faith. As homeschooling families navigated the challenges of providing structure, academic accountability, and community, it became clear that there was a need for a program that could come alongside parents without replacing their role.
What began as a small group of families gathering for academic enrichment and encouragement has grown into a vibrant community of learners, parents, and educators. From the beginning, SCA was built on the belief that children learn best when they are known, supported, and given room to grow—academically, spiritually, and personally. Our model was intentionally designed to bridge the gap between home education and traditional classrooms, offering consistency and support while preserving the freedom and flexibility families value.
Over the years, Southwest Christian Academy has continued to grow thoughtfully and intentionally. Each program, schedule, and academic offering has been shaped by listening closely to families and responding to the real needs of students. As our community has expanded, our commitment has remained the same: to provide high-quality, Christ-centered academic enrichment while honoring parents as the primary educators.
Today, SCA serves families who desire a faith-based, purpose-driven approach to education—one that prioritizes character, curiosity, and community. While our programs have evolved, our heart has not. We remain rooted in our founding mission: to support homeschool families with excellence, integrity, and a shared commitment to raising children who love learning and love the Lord.
